Pecan pie without corn syrup

1 gluten free pie dough Eggs Granulated sugar Maple syrup Vegan butter Salt Vanilla Extract Chopped and halved pecans

Press pie crust into a pan and poke with a fork. Tip: Wet your hands to prevent the dough from sticking to you.

Partially bake the pie crust for 13-15 minutes.

Make the pecan pie filling by whisking together the eggs, sugar, maple syrup, salt and vanilla extract.

Whisk in the melted butter.

Mix the chopped pecans into the batter.

Pour the pecan pie filling into the partially baked pie crust.  Tip: Be sure the pecans are evenly dispersed in the liquid.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until the filling is puffed and no longer jiggly.

Make this a chocolate pecan pie by mixing ⅓ to ½ cup chocolate chips into the filling!
