Why you will love these apple pie energy bites

I love keeping a batch in the fridge for an easy snack, a quick breakfast bite, or a sweet addition to a lunchbox. All you need is a food processor, a few real ingredients, and about 15 minutes.

  • No baking required: The food processor does all the work.
  • Cozy apple pie flavor: Dried apples and apple pie spice make every bite taste warm, sweet, and cinnamon-spiced.
  • Great for make-ahead snacking: Keep them chilled and ready for school, work, or busy afternoons.
  • Gluten-free and vegan: Just be sure to use certified gluten-free oats when needed.

How to make apple pie energy bites

Chef's tip

Get the texture just right

Dates can vary in softness, so add the water gradually. The mixture is ready when it holds together easily when pressed between your fingers, but does not feel wet or sticky. If your dates are firm, soaking them in hot water for 10 minutes makes all the difference.

Storage & Freezing

Store the apple pie energy bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. They are delicious at room temperature, but I especially love them chilled. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months, then thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
